There is still time: A Confident Heart

I realized for the first time this morning that through my life I have placed my trust in “mere men”. Typically that mere (wo)man was me, I was convinced I could do it on my own. (Isn’t that what the world tells us?) But in all the times I trusted myself and came to the end of MY capability to do anything, that is where Jesus met me and said, “Here’s the path. . .follow me” I ignored it for a long time and consequence followed.(‘Cursed is the one, who places his trust in “mere men”) FINALLY, while I still fail alot, I’m beginning to get it. first fruits friday

we’re getting our praise on, these days in Tennessee. We know that Winter will truely show it’s self … but for now, but for today we celebrate with almost seventy degree weather and sunshine. Yes, yes sunshine in early winter!

So, it’s the first Friday of a new year … which means … it’s Sneak Peak Friday … over at Jennifer’s Blog … Studio JRU. Today, I’m so completely Thankful to be the new Women’s Ministry Coordinator at my church … this volunteer position started last August and I’ve been hard at work since then. Finally celebrating some break through moments … but to keep myself humble … it’s sonya la in lower case.

the can project

what a difference a year makes, last year this time … I was busy working on the Bond & Respond quilt project (a gift) for Kelly Rae Roberts … and to my complete surprise I am collecting again … only this time it ain’t quilt blocks … but empty coffee cans, for my Church …. a neighborhood project … (designed by me and AMY) years ago … as gifts … for our neighbors … ONLY this time … we are hopeN to paint & fill cans for our Sick and Shut IN’s and our Church neighbors … cause although we are a church house … we still have neighbors and you know Love thy neighbor … love is a verb … we don’t always get it right but ANYWAY …. sonya la

let your WORSHIP … lead to your work

we so often get it wrong, we so often have it ALL backwards. If you are experienceing a creative famine, as I have been ALL this past summer. Maybe it’s time for a little check up or just time for digging in to the word … HIS word. Yes, I’ve been digging in …

Yes … HE has supplied much time to study.

You see our FATHER works in units of time … HE is the GREAT time keeper. You know, when someone is sick … at death’s door … we pray for more time … we are faithful to honor HIS time … then … what about now. As Anne Graham Lotz states in this twelve year old study … let your WORSHIP …
